Our story

Supporting Territorians through the unimaginable loss of a child for any reason, from conception to 18.

Amber NT was founded in 1985 by two mothers who lost their children Roxanne and Phillip to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

There was no specialised support in Darwin at the time, and this motivated them to start an organisation that would ensure all Territorians had access to much needed support.

Taylah Peters- Amber NT's Chair

No one should have to walk the journey of grief after the loss of a child alone... I am so passionate about Amber NT's vision to continually break down barriers to accessing support. I am doing this for ~Kaden~. For those out there who have also experienced the loss of a child. For those who are in the unimaginable space of grief and need a little light to guide their path.

Katy Chin - Amber NT's General Manager

"Our Northern Territory families can be geographically separated, so it's important that we're here for each other".
